Specialist doctors

LAR's approximately 35 self-employed specialist doctors are for the large part specialists in anaesthesia with an additional training in the area of emergency medicine.
A LAR doctor is present at Findel airport every day and is available for operations with the AR3 helicopter which flies transfer flights from a Luxembourg clinic to special clinics and which is integrated into the German rescue system, acting in the German border area.
There are similarly at least 2 LAR doctors available every day to the LAR for the operational area of worldwide repatriations from abroad.
In the case of repatriations from abroad the LAR doctors clarify in advance the medical conditions of the patients and accompany them not only during the air ambulance flight but also right up to the hospital. Where new born or small children are involved in a transport, specially trained paediatricians accompany the children during the air ambulance flight.
